Congressman Robert Aderholt has announced that Nandini Patel, a ninth-grade student from Fort Payne High School, is the winner of the 2024 Congressional App Challenge for Alabama’s Fourth Congressional District. Her app, Choice Bound, was recognized for its innovative design and potential to benefit users across various age groups.
Choice Bound is designed to help individuals find their ideal career paths and college options. The app features an easy-to-read interface and interactive elements aimed at making the decision-making process more engaging. It serves both high school students planning their futures and adults considering career changes by providing useful tools and insights.
“Nandini Patel’s work exemplifies the kind of creativity and problem-solving that the Congressional App Challenge aims to foster,” said Congressman Aderholt. “Her app addresses a critical need, and I am incredibly proud of her accomplishment. This achievement highlights the talent and ingenuity that exists in Alabama’s Fourth District. With Nandini only being in the ninth grade, I can’t wait to see what else she achieves in the future.”
The Congressional App Challenge is an annual competition held nationwide, encouraging middle and high school students to develop their own apps. Established in 2015, it aims to promote interest in coding and computer science among students, particularly within STEM fields. Winners have their apps displayed at the U.S. Capitol and are invited to attend the House of Code celebration in Washington, D.C.
