On October 13, 2024, Congressman Robert Aderholt announced the passing of his mother, Mary Frances Aderholt. She died on Saturday afternoon, October 12, 2024, in Haleyville at the age of 88.
In a heartfelt note, Congressman Aderholt expressed gratitude for the time he had with his mother. "My mom, Mary Frances Aderholt, passed away Saturday afternoon October 12, 2024 here in Haleyville. She was 88, and I thank God I had her as long as I did," he shared.
He recounted their last moments together before leaving town. "I was with her a couple of days last week and before I left her to go out of town Thursday morning, I told her I loved her and she told me that she loved me."
Reflecting on his loss as an only child who lost his father three years ago, Congressman Aderholt said it is especially difficult. However, he finds solace in faith: "Thankfully, I have the strong arm of the Lord Jesus to cling to."
He also found comfort knowing his mother had a strong faith and is now reunited with his father. "It is also comforting to know she had a faith in Christ Jesus and she is reunited with my dad whom she loved so much."
Describing his mother as "quite a lady" who always wanted things done first class, he added that both parents were his biggest supporters: "She was quite a lady and very proper and always wanted to do things first class. She along with my dad were my biggest cheerleaders."
Congressman Aderholt looks forward to reuniting with them someday: "I look forward to seeing both of them again." He concluded by expressing love for his mother: "I love you Mom!"
Additionally, he shared lyrics from a song by GT Speer titled "He Is Mine & I Am His Forever," which has provided him encouragement during this time.
