Today, Congressman Robert Aderholt of Alabama's 4th District voted in favor of a Continuing Resolution to fund the federal government for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2025. The decision aims to provide stability for American families, businesses, and national security.

"While this is not a perfect bill, it was necessary to keep the government functioning, ensure our military is fully funded, and provide certainty for the American people," said Congressman Aderholt. He stressed the importance of controlling spending while maintaining essential services.

Congressman Aderholt highlighted the need for responsible budgeting to prevent a government shutdown. "I will continue working with my colleagues to push for long-term, fiscally responsible solutions that rein in wasteful spending and put America on a sustainable path forward," he added.

Aderholt acknowledged Speaker Mike Johnson and President Trump's roles in advancing the funding measure through the House. "Their steadfast leadership and commitment to conservative principles have been instrumental in keeping our government running while prioritizing the needs of hardworking Americans," he stated. He called on the Senate to pass the resolution promptly.

"This funding bill is also crucial in giving President Trump the time and ability to focus on crafting his first budget for Fiscal Year 2026," Aderholt continued. He noted that prolonged debates over FY 2025 spending could lead to uncertainty and delays in setting a future fiscal course.
