Congressman Robert Aderholt, representing Alabama's Fourth District, announced his support for the House Republican budget resolution. This resolution is seen as a step toward advancing former President Trump's America First agenda.

Aderholt emphasized that the resolution reflects the desires of voters in his district. "In November, more than 83% of voters in Alabama’s Fourth District cast their ballots for President Trump, making it clear that they wanted a return to strong, conservative leadership," he stated. He noted that these voters prioritized secure borders, energy independence, economic prosperity, and a robust national defense.

He addressed potential criticism from opposing parties by clarifying the nature of the vote. "Unfortunately, Democrats will misrepresent this vote to spread fear and confusion. The truth is that today’s budget resolution does not make a single policy change." Aderholt explained that the resolution establishes spending and revenue targets and directs committees to draft legislation to meet these targets through reconciliation.

Highlighting Republican control over Congress and the presidency at the time, Aderholt saw an opportunity to reverse what he described as damage from previous years. "With Republicans in control of the House, Senate, and White House, we have a historic opportunity to undo the damage of the past four years and put America back on the right track."

He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to his constituents' values. "I am proud to stand with my colleagues in support of this resolution, and I will continue to fight for the values and priorities of the people of Alabama’s Fourth District."
