Walker County Has Been Saved by Getting 1.7 Pounds of Fentanyl Off the Street

How many lives in Walker County have been saved by getting 1.7 pounds of fentanyl off the street?

Virtually all of them.

1.7 pounds of fentanyl has to capacity (at a minimum) to be fatal to 392,000 people. That's almost SEVEN TIMES the population of Walker County!

That how much fentanyl alone has been recovered and taken off the streets by the Walker County Sheriff’s Office since January 2019! Fentanyl is so dangerous that it can cause overdoses simply by being absorbed through the skin, so you can only imagine what it's like to put it inside your body.

When you combine that with over seventeen pounds of meth, there's no way to tell exactly how many people could've been killed. How many kids would have to bury their Mommy or Daddy? How many parents would've had to bury their son or daughter?

Our team has worked hard, and will continue to work just as hard as time goes on. If we can help save one life it's worth it-- but almost 400,000 lives....that's a huge accomplishment!

Obviously we wish that people would stop using completely, putting dealers out of business (supply/demand). However, we know that will never happen. Every drug that we can get out of the hands of dealers and users is a victory!
