There was one gas station in cities across St. Clair County selling premium gas at the lowest price of $3.85 per gallon in the week ending Oct. 7, according to GasBuddy.com.

The average cost of premium gas in cities within St. Clair County was $3.91 per gallon.

There are 46 gas stations in cities within St. Clair County.

The average price of premium gas in Alabama was $4.0, compared to $4.04 the week before.

The U.S. government missed the mark when forecasting gas prices for 2022. A short-term outlook published early in 2022 claimed gas rates would fall, when in fact gas rates rose significantly.

The outlook once again suggested that prices would fall in 2023.
