Congressman Robert Aderholt, Chairman of the House Values Action Committee, has expressed approval following a recent U.S. Supreme Court decision. The court upheld Tennessee’s law in the case United States v. Skrmetti, which aims to protect minors from medical treatments deemed irreversible and life-altering.
In his statement, Congressman Aderholt said, “I applaud the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold Tennessee’s law safeguarding our most vulnerable, our children, from irreversible and unnecessary medical treatments that carry dangerous risks.” He emphasized that the ruling supports not only state rights but also a moral obligation to protect children’s health and well-being.
The Supreme Court’s decision comes after a challenge by the previous administration in federal court. It affirms that states have the authority to act in children’s best interests by preventing high-risk interventions. Congressman Aderholt described this as a victory for both America’s children and parental rights.
