The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office announced on April 15 that it conducted a countywide warrant roundup on April 15 and 16, in cooperation with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies.
The operation aimed to serve outstanding warrants and enforce drug laws across St. Clair County and surrounding jurisdictions. Authorities said the effort resulted in the arrest of 40 individuals for offenses including child abuse/torture, distribution and possession of dangerous drugs, burglary, theft, and other property crimes.
According to the sheriff’s office, the initiative involved deputies from the St. Clair County Drug Enforcement Unit as well as municipal police officers from Pell City, Ashville, Odenville, Moody, Leeds, Riverside, Margaret, Argo, Springville, Irondale, Trussville Police Departments; agents from the Federal Bureau of Investigation; and deputies from Shelby, Blount, Etowah and Calhoun County Sheriff’s Offices.
Among those arrested were individuals facing charges such as child abuse torture (Patricia Densmore), harassment (Lonnie Brewster), escape (Aldredge Holmes), forgery (Shannon Ferguson), probation revocation related to drug charges (Braxton Thomas), giving a false name to law enforcement officers (Brian Rock), attempting to elude or hinder prosecution (Henry Faulkner and Brett McDaniel), among others. Arrests took place in several communities including Ashville with fifteen arrests reported there alone.
The list also included out-of-state arrests: Justin Bigon was apprehended in California for failure to appear on a controlled substance charge while Cary Loque was arrested in Louisiana for failure to appear related to controlled substances or driving under the influence.
Officials said that joint efforts like these help address both violent crime and drug-related offenses within the community.
