The St. Clair County School Resource Officers are attending the 2026 Safe Schools Conference this week in Orange Beach, according to a June 2 announcement.

The Alabama Association of School Resource Officers has organized the event, which features a lineup of presenters and classes focused on school safety. The conference also includes recognition for excellence in the field.

Ariel Herren, a St. Clair County School Resource Officer, was recognized with the Life-Saver Award for her actions at Odenville Intermediate School. The announcement states that Herren received the award for her heroic acts.

The conference provides an opportunity for school resource officers from across Alabama to learn best practices and share experiences related to student safety and emergency response.

The participation of St. Clair County officers at this event highlights ongoing efforts to promote safe learning environments in local schools.
