Deputy Phil Watson of the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office took part in the Wreaths Across America Ceremony at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo. Watson, who has served with the department for 17 years, is also a bagpiper with the Alabama Law Enforcement Memorial Pipes and Drums.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Memorial Pipes and Drums is a group composed of public safety professionals who perform ceremonial music to pay tribute to fallen heroes. Deputy Watson’s participation as a bagpiper contributed to the atmosphere of remembrance during the event.

“Wreaths Across America” is an annual ceremony held at locations nationwide to honor veterans by placing wreaths on their graves.
