Sheriff Billy J. Murray and D.A.R.E. Instructor Buddy McBride attended the graduation ceremony for fifth-grade students at Odenville Intermediate School on Mar. 20, marking the completion of the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program.
The event recognized students who finished the program, which aims to educate young people about resisting substance abuse and violence.
Murray and McBride joined school staff and community partners in celebrating the achievements of the graduates. The Sheriff’s Office thanked everyone who contributed to educating and equipping students with skills to make safe choices.
“Congratulations to the Odenville Intermediate D.A.R.E. graduates!” said those involved in organizing the event.
The D.A.R.E. program is designed to provide students with knowledge and strategies to avoid drugs, alcohol, and other risky behaviors. Community involvement is seen as an important part of supporting youth education efforts like this one.
Looking ahead, local officials say they hope continued partnerships will help more students benefit from similar educational programs.
