Tuition for Alabama residents attending George C. Wallace State Community College-Hanceville rose by 1.2% during the 2022-23 school year, as revealed in the most recent report, according to the latest disclosure from the National Center for Education Statistics.

Alabama students paid $4,920 to enroll at the two-year public college this year, an increase of $60 from the $4,860 charged in the 2021-22 academic year.

Non-resident students faced tuition costs 76.2% higher than those for in-state students in 2022-23, amounting to $8,670. This represents a 1.4% increase from the $8,550 tuition fee in 2021-22.

Approximately 97% of the undergraduate student body at the college are Alabama residents, while around 2% come from other states.

Data indicates that 78% of full-time undergraduates who enrolled at George C. Wallace State Community College-Hanceville in 2022-23 received some form of financial aid. A total of 667 students were awarded grants or scholarships amounting to $3.9 million, while 203 students obtained student loans exceeding $1.1 million.

Across the entire undergraduate population, 2,372 students received grants or scholarships totaling $11.9 million. Additionally, 1,109 students borrowed $7.2 million in federal student loans.
