There were three gas stations in cities across St. Clair County selling premium gas at the lowest price of $4.16 per gallon in the week ending May 2, according to customer reports submitted to GasBuddy.

Reported prices for premium gas in St. Clair County averaged $4.65 per gallon.

GasBuddy reports show that premium gas was available at 25 of the 74 reported gas stations in St. Clair County.

For comparison, the average price of premium gas in Alabama was $4.69 per gallon for the week ending May 2, up from the previous week.

According to an analysis by Time Magazine, fuel prices remain elevated and volatile as global oil markets react to geopolitical developments tied to the U.S. conflict with Iran, with supply concerns focused on potential disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz.
